Godfrey Kagiso Molote, professionally known as Kagiso, is a highly experienced aviation and technical professional with over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry. A South African national based in Pretoria, Tshwane, he is fluent in Setswana, English, IsiZulu, and Afrikaans.
Kagiso has extensive expertise in flight inspection operations, aircraft maintenance, training processes, and regulatory compliance. With a strong background in coordinating specialised technical services, he has played a key role in ensuring that flight inspection systems and associated test equipment comply with OEM specifications and applicable aviation standards.
He holds a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering and is a qualified Aircraft Radiotrician, having completed his technical training with the South African Air Force. Kagiso is a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with Avionics, Electrical, Instruments (CAT W), and Compass/Electrical (CAT X) ratings. His career spans both military and civil aviation environments, where he has consistently demonstrated technical excellence, leadership, and strict adherence to regulatory requirements.
Currently, Kagiso serves as Manager: Flight Inspection at the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA). In this role, he is responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of flight inspection activities, including technical planning, operational management, client liaison, quality and safety assurance, ISO 9001 compliance, budgeting support, staff development, and senior management reporting. He also contributes to the development and promotion of aviation safety standards for air navigation systems.
Prior to joining SACAA, Kagiso held senior engineering and management positions at Solenta Aviation, South African Airlink, South African Express Airways, and Denel Aviation. These roles provided him with extensive experience in avionics maintenance, line and base operations, facility management, international station leadership, and aircraft modification projects. His aircraft exposure includes ATR 42/72, Dash 8 series, ERJ 145, Jetstream 41, Beechcraft, CASA 212, LET aircraft, Cessna 185, Boeing 737, and C130 Hercules.
Kagiso has completed numerous specialised aviation courses covering aircraft type ratings, quality and safety management systems, CNS/ATM navigational systems, human factors, dangerous goods, and aviation maintenance management. He also demonstrates strong proficiency in aviation and enterprise IT systems, including SAGE 300, Envision, WINAIR, and Microsoft Office.
Recognised as a resourceful, disciplined, and safety-driven leader, Kagiso brings sound expertise in procurement coordination, stakeholder engagement, and liaison with service providers, particularly in the areas of calibration, certification, and quality assurance.
